Methanol, a potential replacement for gasoline as an automotive fuel, can be made from H2 an CO by the reaction CO(g)+2H2(g)-CH3OH(G) How will this reation be affected if the volume of the container is reduced ? the energy of the system will increase, moe methanol wiil decompose, the equilibruim postion will not be affected, more methanol will be formed.
