Introduction
An abstract allows your audience to get a glimpse, if you will, into the larger work. It is not a review or an evaluation; however, an abstract may often contain a thesis, background information, and conclusion of the larger work. It is a brief, commanding statement.
Most often, the abstract contains key words and phrases that allow your audience to understand quickly the scope of the work.
Initial Post Instructions
Post an abstract of your novel on the discussion board. An abstract is a concise summary of the novel you read.
Note: Make sure to cite your novel.
According to APA guidelines, an abstract must be between 150-250 words. Review the Abstract section of the Purdue OWL APA Formatting and Style Guide for more information on abstracts.
