Please how do you go about solving all these conversion

PLEASE! How do you go about solving all these conversion between atoms and moles and grams ect? when asked Q's like,

"How many moles are in Xgrams of Z?" and "How many grams are in Xmoles of Z", and "How many molecules are in this? How many atoms are in this? how many ect ect"

I need help making sense of where to begin, and explaining why/how they relate to get from unitA to unitB in my conversions! I understand the process and how to cancel units. For example I understand the grams/mole is the atomic number. so if I want to cancel moles the process in algebra would be: (moles)x(grams/moles)= grams.

BUT I GET CONFUSED ON WHERE TO START AND HOW TO GET THE ANSWER THAT I AM LOOKING FOR! It feels like a puzzle and somedays i just cant figure it out i feel embarresed. Idk why i am so confused.

So that you (the tutor) know more about my knowledge base, this is where my brain's comprehension stands:

MOLE, is an amount (6.022E23), when there is that amount of atoms when an element weighs that atomic weight in grams. (This is where my brain gets tongue tied) and the ATOMIC WEIGHT is determined by its weight per mol, which is the amount of atoms whenever it's atomic weight is that amount per mol.. of that amount..??????? can you see my confusion?? I need help figuring this out so i know how to solve unit conversions for my exams. Also what is the difference between Atomic mass, Molar mass and AMU? are they the same?
