Note during the first few weeks you have been thinking

Question: Dissertation Topics

Note: During the first few weeks you have been thinking about possible dissertation topics. During Week 2 you completed the Dissertation Premise which identified one topic to explore further. Keep in mind that research is an iterative process, and your topic, research questions, and methodology may change as you develop your prospectus during this course.

Post by Day 3: Post a brief statement of your dissertation topic in one or two sentences. Briefly discuss the following:

• Why are you specifically interested in this topic?

• What is the specific problem or condition being explored?

• What is the professional value of the study?

• Identify any obstacles that could arise if this preliminary topic becomes your actual dissertation topic. For example, are the instruments used to measure your constructs available and affordable? Do you have access to the target population from whom you will collect your data?
