Next select a manager who would be willing to talk about

Trends are shaping human resource management, including the aging of the workforce, race and ethnicity in the workplace, and the impact of social media, among others. In addition to HR trends and challenges identified in the textbook, conduct an internet search for other trends and challenges; then pick three HRM trends that interest you. The three trends can be general to HR in a wide spectrum of industries or specific to your particular industry.

Next, select a manager who would be willing to talk about those trends for about 15 minutes-someone in human resource management or in a different field that interests you. Interview the person. Summarize each trend you listed, and ask your interviewee to describe any impact of that trend that he or she has observed at work.Take notes.

Navigate to the threaded discussion below and in your initial discussion post, provide responses to the following:

a. Three Trends. Identify the three trends, providing a summary analysis in 1-2 sentences, with supportive data. For example, if identifying demographics as a key trend, then provide the quantitative data that supports your contention.

b. Interview and Findings. Identify the interviewee's management title and provide a brief recap of your interview findings, to include the impact of each trend on the interviewee's function in the workplace.

Note: The synopsis of findings may be placed in a table format supported by a two-paragraph summary analysis.

c. Suggestions and/or Contributions. If your interviewee identified negative impacts, suggest how HR professionals might help the organization cope. If your interviewee noted positive impacts, consider how human resource management might contribute to, or enhance, the positives.

5. Provide a detailed post that demonstrates clear, insightful critical thinking. Your initial posting should be 200-300 words long.

6. Organize your initial post by using a heading for each response to match those shown in bolded text above.

7. Your initial posting is to include, at a minimum, three sources properly cited and referenced: (a) the Human Resource Management textbook, and (b) two academic journal articles obtained through OCLS that are at least 3-5 pages in length and published within the last 3-5 years, in addition to (c) the interviewee's applicable responses.
