Neon gas is injected into a metal cylinder sealed by a movable piston. The gas is allowed to come to an equilibrium temperature of 200C when the internal pressure is 0.3 atmospheres and the volume is 4 litres.

1. How many moles of neon are trapped in the cylinder?

The piston is then slowly moved to compress the gas to a final volume of 1 liter. The slow process allows the gas to remain at its initial temperature throughout the process. (That is, the gas temperature is a constant 200C throughout the compression.)
