Negative leadership behavior impacts organizational culture

Discussion:

An Organization's culture is formed over time and is linked to the shared values and perceptions of leaders and employees (Schein,1992). Leadership's influence on employees is part of the behavior to some degree is connected to how the behavior is perceived (Klein,Wallis,Cooke,2013). A culture that is built on negativity can influence the leadership's effectiveness to some degree.
If the employees perceive, think, and feel negative about their organization and their role in solving problems, then
it impacts their goals (Schein,1992).

Negative leadership behavior impacts organizational culture, and leadership's effectiveness to motivate employees (Klein,Wallis,Cooke,2013). By leaders acting and communicating with a negative attitude and rude behavior it impacts employee's motivation to meet goals and expectations, and it has a negative impact on culture (Schein,1992).

Employees can perceive negative and rude behavior as directed towards them, and it creates a negative work atmosphere. Employees that interpret the negative behavior of their leader as accepted behavior could also exhibit and mirror their leader's behavior (Klein,Wallis,Cooke,2013).
