Question: Multicultural perceptions in education. Yang and Montgomery (2012) studied how teachers and prospective teachers perceive diversity in an educational environment. In their study, participants responded with their level of agreement to many statements regarding diversity on a scale from -5 (most unlike me) to +5 (most like me); the median value, 0, indicated a neutral rating. One item stated, "Some cultural groups are not prepared enough to achieve in America" (Yang & Montgomery, 2012, p. 32).
