Assessment: Create A Professional Website

The course is assessed by one Individual Assessment(100%), which will be divided in two components. The Group Presentation and the Written Report will be delivered on week 10 (June 4-8).

Information on these assessments will be shared on week 5 and 9.

LEARNING PURPOSE

1. Critically discuss the role of E-Business Architecture in today's business environment.
2. Develop processes which are relevant to the adoption and use of E Business Architecture for business strategic purposes
3. Critically discuss and suggest the appropriate use of technology and new computer applications in a variety of problem-solving situations.
4. Demonstrate deep understanding between different types of systems and innovative methods of reducing costs and improving service through innovative E-business systems

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ASSIGNMENT

Topic - The student must design a Professional Website for a Business, Non-profit, or Museum Site (deadline session 10, 100%).

Students must upload an individual PowerPoint presentation and a written report on week 10.

Requirements
- Create a 10-page Website that represents the home page of any business, museum, or non-profit of your choice. This can be entirely made up unless you have a connection to a real establishment.
- You will need to consider the business elements of your website, which is the content, and the technical part operating in the background.
- Consider appropriate content for each page; what information would be of interest to a typical user.Use copyright free images or images in the public domain or images that you have the right to use.

Questions students mustaddress the following Business and Technical Aspects:
1. Clearly identify the segment of customers that your website is targeting. Then accordingly you need to adjust the brand for your website: Design logo, a slogan and the content
2. Develop your short and long term social media strategy to increase the visibility and the traffic on your website. Focus on explaining how this is possible through the development of specific partnerships with key players in your industry and on the Internet.

Also, critically evaluate each of the following questions here below:
1. Will the management of the website be handled internally to the company or by a subcontractor?
2. What server is hosting your website? Explain your choice and why it is appropriate
3. Which CMS to prefer to use? (i.e., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Concrete 5, Magento, etc.)
4. What type of subscription did you go for? Annual or longer? Explain the advantages and the disadvantages.
5. Does your current web host meet all your new website's needs (space, bandwidth, databases, etc.)?
6. Do you plan on or need to move to a new host provider later? Explain why or why not.
7. Do you have a completed site architecture for the new website?
8. Can your website easily integrate extra modules to develop social media marketing?
9. Is there any need for upgrade? If yes when?

Individual Written Report
The individual written report should be uploaded on Moodle on the day of presentation. The maximum number of pages is 5 (Cover page, bibliography and appendix excluded). No more than 4 pages for the appendix. The structure of the written report should be considering the following elements:
- Cover page
- Introduction
- Background, Scope of the work, Method of Investigation, Research Question, Objectives
- Body of Analysis: Analysis using theories and models studied in class; use of facts, figures, graphs and visual material
- Conclusion
- Bibliography
- Appendix
