Is socrates victim of his own thoery

Is Socrates Victim of His Own Thoery:

In Plato’s dialogue Crito, Socrates accepts the death sentence imposed on him, even though he denies his alleged guilt and is known to have lived a morally virtuous life. Socrates also articulates an understanding of law and of the obligation to obey the law in the Crito. Was Socrates the victim of a faulty theory of law? Could either natural law or legal positivism save him? Or was he right to believe that he had to accept his punishment?
