Instructions for the Group Project
1. Each group is assigned an individual project brief that is shown next to group number.
2. You are required to understand and analyze the problems you are given to build an automation system.
3. The analysis should be done with UML.
4. We would like to see four UML diagrams in each project: Use Case Diagram, Class and Object Diagram, State Machine
Diagram, Sequence Diagram
5. Identify functional and non-functional requirements of the system
6. List requirements that need further clarification.
7. Use Visio or similar open source tool to draw the UML diagrams
8. Each group will make a project presentation in the last lecture. Follow the format provided in IND708 project presentation template in preparing your presentation. Presentations can be made by a single group member or collectively by multiple members. Each group has 8 minutes for the presentation. You are required to upload your presentations to Project submission folder in D2L an hour before the lecture.
9. Your analysis should be presented as a technical report. The details/ guidelines of the technical report format is provided.
Report Format
Each team is required to write a requirements analysis document with the following details
1. Introduction (half page)
2. Current system (half page)
3. Proposed system
a. Overview (half page)
b. Functional requirements; Nonfunctional requirements; Constraints ("Pseudo requirements") in one table (max 3
pages)
4. UML Analysis
a. Use case model (2 pages)
b. Class diagrams (2 pages)
c. Sequence diagrams (2 pages)
d. State machine diagrams (2 pages)
5. Glossary.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
