In my opinion, compliance with organizational standards begins with more administrative concentration on ways to support the staff and prevent patient harm and liabilities. The organization's administration hierarchy needs to be followed to maintain the performance and work ethics of the staff.
I would also maintain the nurse to patient relationship and achieve their needs as best as possible while also following through with the rules set by the organization; maintaining the scope of practice, and communicating with all providers collaborating care. The importance of balancing your position with the organizational policy may be critical. If the administration observes reluctance to comply with the standards there may be a need to remove, re-assign and/or re-educate the staff member(s).
