Improving Ethical Behavior, organizational behaviour Theory & Concepts
In the current state of affairs, organizations perform in a intensely spirited atmosphere that forces them to put rigid goals for their employees. As a result, employees are made to perform in an environment of stress. This in turn makes it more enticing for them to resort to unreasonable practices to accomplish their targets. The employees’ superiors may also sometimes give confidence them to pursue immoral practices to bring about the tasks. In such cases, these employees countenance an ethical quandary on whether to comply with the orders of his/ her superior or describe the subject or issue to the top management. Even though characteristics of ideal ethical behavior are not evidently defined, every organization must approve a guiding principle that make sure the employees at all levels pursue ethical practices in the organization.

In the recent years, some organizations have presented themselves to standardize their acts on their own. They endow their employees with codes of ethics to facilitate them in the course of ethical predicaments. They arrange seminars, workshops and training programs sporadically to instruct their employees on ethical behavior. Some organizations have internal counselors to help employees in dealing with ethical dilemmas. Such organizations also propose fortification to employees who bring to light, the unethical practices of some employees in the organization. Therefore, it goes without saying that an ethically healthy environment is a prerequisite for improved productivity and efficiency.
