Immune response of a child with vitamin a deficiency

Problem: Vitamin A deficiency leads to impaired mucosal barriers, decreased function of neutrophils, macrophages and natural killer cells. It also impairs the development of T helper and B cells. Please explain how the immune response of a child with vitamin A deficiency would differ from that of a child without vitamin A deficiency in the case of an infection with Shigella dysentariae (a bacteria that causes bloody diarrhea; thus it affects the intestinal mucosa). In your response, please discuss what each of the affected types of immune cells does for both the innate and adaptive response to a bacterial infection of the mucosa
