PROJECT: WORKING WITH CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Introduction
For this project, you'll type a 3-5 page essay with connections to your textbook and/or an outside source. You'll start your essay with an opening paragraph and end it with a conclusion.
Instructions
This project consists of five parts:
Part One
Begin with an opening paragraph sharing what you will be writing about. This paragraph should entice a reader to want to read more.
Part Two
Share how knowledge of child development can assist professionals in assessment and in intervention. You should start by describing typical development of a child, then share a specific disability that you read about this week, and then share how this disability affects a child's development.
Part Three
If you were a teacher in this child's preschool classroom, how would you create an inclusive environment for this child in your mixed age (3-5 year olds) class? Share two examples.
Part Four
Identify three legal implications of including a student with special needs into your early childhood setting.
Part Five
Your final paragraph should summarize your learning.
