If the plates remain connected to the battery and the top

A particle with a mass m= 1.8 x 10^-15 kg and magnitude of charge |q| = 6.0 x 10^-6 C is projected into the uniform field between 2 parallel plates (4.0 cm long and separated by 2.0 cm) hooked up to a battery as shown in the figure. It takes the particle = 2.0 x10^-8 s to travel the distance between the plates and as it exits, it just barley clears the far plate. The electric field is zero EXCEPT IN THE SPACE BETWEN THE 2 PLATES. The particle enters the field at a point midway between the plates.

A) what is the sign of the charge? How can you tell?

B) if the plates remain connected to the battery and the top plate is moves UP, such that the distance between the plates is increased, while the bottom plate is held in place. Everything else is the same in the problem. Which of the trajectories below is the MOST correct?
