During their Thanksgiving dinner, Dad handed a written and signed memorandum to his Daughter, who was in her senior year in high school, that if she would go to college he would pay her tuition, room and board and give her a $500 bonus for each "A" she got in school. Uncle was present when Dad handed Daughter the memo, and added "and if he doesn't pay, I will." Dad paid the expenses for the first year but passed away before Daughter's 2nd year in college.
