You might also think of the criteria as a list of best practices.

The criteria must be based on research, not just your opinions. You might also think of the criteria as a list of best practices. You must submit a minimum of 10 criteria, and indicate why you chose each. Also, include a research reference source for each of the criteria. Complete Step 3 of the Course Project this week (Audit Criteria). Submit your criteria to the Dropbox (see the Homework section for this week and also the Course Project in Course Home for assignment details).

1. An organization advertise its positions in a manner that encourages minority and/or disadvantaged groups without giving the perception that a particular group is being sought after (Collins, 2015). I selected this criterion due to ABC Company not showing any diversity in their advertisements.

2. Recruitment processes should be within the regulatory guidelines to encourage as well as increase the response of various segment groups (Mouse, 2015). ABC Company should use this process to enhance the organizations diversity initiative.

3. The interview process should be free from questions regarding birthplace, nationality, race, color, religion, sex, marital status, age, childcare responsibilities (Department of Labor, 2015). I chose this criteria because ABC Company should review its interview process to ensure they are not in violation.

Diversity Audit

Every culture defines how an individual behaves or communicates with others as it provides many values and principles that people earn with time. Social category diversity relates to differences in demographic characteristics, such as age and race. Informational diversity refers to diversity of background such as knowledge, education, experience, tenure and functional background. Value diversity includes differences in personality and attitudes. Diversity is most important and its impact on how differences people can work together as a team work and increasing organizational efficiency and effectiveness (Shaw&Barrett-Power, 1998, p. 1311).However, the presence of multiple cultures within a society has advantages and disadvantaged that can affect human behavior and conceptions.

In many ways, diversity has some advantages to a developed society. One of the advantages is that people are given the opportunity to learn about the cultures of different countries, and incorporate positive ideas into their own culture. On the other hand, diversity is about the individual focused, universal initiatives, employee friendly policies and individual development (Wilson&Iles, 1999, p. 32).

Top leadership management of an organization plays an important role to the overall organization as they set examples for others to follow. The top management in an organization must show commitment that they want to initiate diversity management within the company. This commitment could consist of time as well as the resources needed to accomplish the diversity. Leaders create the change within their organizations inspiring employees. Top management can communicate diversity practices to the organization a variety of ways such as policy statements, meetings, speeches, newsletters, and websites. If the top management is serious about diversity, it sends a clear message to the organization of just how serious it is.

Diversity starts with top leadership management but it also includes employees. Employees need diversity management in order to "better serve their customers, increase employee satisfaction, and meet the needs of diverse communities
