Clinical Case: 81-year-old woman admitted to the Emergency Room from a home for the elderly. The client presents with symptoms of painful urination with frequent voiding of urine, fever 38°C with lower back pain. The doctor diagnoses UTI (urinary tract infection) and prescribes antibiotic therapy. The caregiver asks if an additional probiotic can be ordered, in order to avoid diarrhea associated with the antibiotic that the doctor prescribed.
