Current Business Overview

Despite being the world's most developed nation, hunger remains a major issue in the United States. Millions of individuals go hungry and suffer from food insecurity on a daily basis. At the end of the day, most restaurants have a lot of leftover food, which is then thrown out. We believe restaurants should also be involved in helping fight the problem of hunger in this nation, given that local food banks and organizations are doing all they can to reduce the number of hungry Americans. We propose to come up with a food drive that will reinvent the way food drives work. This program will involve restaurants and prevent food that is leftover from going to waste. It would be possible for restaurants to communicate with shelters and food banks about leftover food and distribute it to those who need a meal.

Constraints

The varying demand for the product. Are the food distribution centers capable of collecting and distributing new donation sources? Perishable food can be more difficult to distribute before it spoils. Covid-19 restrictions may affect demand and ability to fulfill as frequently. Federal regulations can have an issue with how the food is being handled and stored Having a hard time attracting donors and restaurants to supply the extra food and funding. This project doesn't provide anything concrete to attract potential users, it relies on good grace and things like potential tax cuts. Soup kitchens, shelters, food banks are overworked as it is and additional funding may not be enough to offset some extra work. Running off donations will make it difficult to get the initial funding to develop the application.

Issues

The following are some issues to consider: Foods that are perishable are more difficult to distribute before they spoil. Food handling and storage can become a problem if federal regulations are not followed It relies on goodwill and whether or not the government will cut taxes in the future.

Risks

Below are some risks to consider: Due to the funding we receive, we may not be able to develop the software Possibility of food being spoiled or tampered with can result in legal risks As a result of insufficient funding, it may be difficult for them to deliver everything as promised When people in need are not assisted, employees' safety is at risk.

Non-Financial benefits

Benefits that are non-financial include:

a) Hunger can be alleviated.
b) Word-of-mouth advertising to promote the business.
