This assignment has a hard deadline. I will not accept it late or via email. Once the deadline has passed, this window of opportunity closes permanently. You will have a second opportunity at the end of the course, but you will not be able to make up this one. No exceptions. See the Course Schedule for the due date.

Identify an article of interest to you and which covers a topic relevant to the concepts covered in Chapters 1-6 or the Plug It In sections in the textbook assigned so far. This artice cannot be already listed in the folders in the Course_Resources area. This must be a text-based article (not a video) from a high quality periodical (see list below; email to get approval of any other source). My approved list includes periodicals that have excellent reputations and articles that are vetted by qualified editors and reviewers.

Write a summary (main points) and a critique (reasoning, validity of conclusions, apparent bias, quality of sources, etc.) of the content of the article. Explicitly discuss how the article relates to this course and to you, personally. The article must be long enough for your response to fill 1.5 - 2 pages (no less and no more). Use the format described below. Save your work in a file name that follows the rules for this course (example: TroboyKimExCred1.docx). Submit your file at this link. I reserve the right to submit your assignment to TurnItIn.com to evaluate how original your writing is.

Your article review must be generally in APA style. Include identifying information single-spaced and right-justified at the top (name, course and section number, date). Skip a line. For a title, enter the complete article citation in strict APA format single-spaced (as if it were an entry in a bibliography). Skip a line and begin your first paragraph. Use double-spacing, a 12-point font, and 1-inch margins. Paragraphs must have 'first line' formatting (indented on the first line) with no extra blank lines between paragraphs.

(Do not use a tab to get the first line indented; see 'Special' in the drop-down portion of the paragraph area in the ribbon. I may penalize you 50% for making this rookie mistake. All I have to do is hit the Show/Hide function to see the tabs.) I will deduct points for not following this format. You are not guaranteed these extra credit points; you must earn them.
Submit your article review here at this link, which allows up to three submission attempts.
