Homework: Early Childhood Literacy 5 Day Lesson Plan- Project Guidelines
This homework will serve as the final project in EDU203. You will pull together what you have learned in the course and develop a 1 week (5 day) early childhood (Prek-3rd Grade) literacy lesson plan. You may use any of the homework you created in this class.
STANDARDS
i. Review your state's early childhood literacy standards & Common Core State Standards (K-3) --> select one set of standards, not both
ii. Choose one or two standards to focus your lessons
FOR EACH OF THE 5 DAYS
I. OBJECTIVES
i. What do you want the children to learn (not what do you want to teach)?
ii. What will the children be able to do as a result of the lesson?
iii. Align your objectives to the standards you selected
iv. Remember, you must be able to evaluate (assessments) whether or not your students have met the objectives.
II. MATERIALS
i. List all of the materials necessary for the lessons
ii. Books and media sources must have citations (use APA for this homework)
III. INTRODUCTION (also known as the Anticipatory Set)
i. Connect to previous knowledge

IV. PROCEDURES
i. Main portion of your lesson
ii. Step-by-step instructions for what your teacher and students will do during the lesson

Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
