How you perceive family engagement in our school

Problem:

The following questions were asked during the interviews: How do you perceive the current level of family engagement in our school? What strategies have been effective in involving low-income families? Can you identify any barriers that families face in engaging with the school? What resources or support do you think would enhance family-school connections? How can we better address the needs of families from different socioeconomic backgrounds? How can we make families feel comfortable with our staff and school? Both Coach Meeks and Mrs. Devore noted that while many families are actively involved in school activities, others, particularly those from lower income communities, deal with significant barriers to engaging with the school. Coach Meeks highlighted that engagement often varies by demographic factors, including race, socioeconomic status, and language proficiency. According to U.S. News & World Report (n.d.), Walnut Attendance Center is 81.6% white students, 10.8% black students, and only 3.3% of Hispanic students. Therefore language proficiency is currently not a major factor at Walnut. While the school is predominantly white, most of the kids come from Christian homes and have similar socioeconomic backgrounds. Most families earn a median household income of $27, 396 which is well below the state average of $54,915 and the town has a poverty rate of 33.07% (Data USA, 2023). Need Assignment Help?
