Image of a group meeting This activity will provide you with an opportunity to engage in discussion on a project management topic that was covered in this module. The class interaction will foster a learning environment in which you will learn from each other's experiences and opinions. In addition to that, you will practice using project management lingo and expressing your opinions in a professional manner.
One of the barriers to productive project meetings that you may come across in your career is a phenomenon called a "Meeting Rambler". A Meeting Rambler is a person who includes substantial content unrelated to project information whenever they speak during the project meetings.
You can ask a meeting rambler a simple question about their task on the project and next thing you know, the meeting rambler is telling a story about their weekend, latest vacation, or the story of their life; consequently, the meeting becomes out of control. Depending on the charisma level of the meeting rambler, the meeting attendees are either entertained or annoyed.
If meeting ramblers are not effectively addressed, they can cause wasted meeting time, loss of interest of the meeting attendees, and decreased credibility of the meeting facilitator.
