Assignment:
You were recently hired as a school counselor to support students between two schools, one in Metropolis and the other in Gotham City. The building administrators of both schools provided you with a list of at-risk students who need social-emotional support.
In 2 to 3 pages, discuss how you would utilize Person- Centered Theory in conjunction with the other theories covered in this course and professional literature to support each student. Be sure to review and reference the textbook and supplemental readings from the course.
• Clark Kent- Foster youth, intelligent, unsure of his own potential, doesn't feel like he fits in, loves to help people
• Bruce Wayne- Serious, withdrawn, grief over the loss of his parents, intelligent, can quickly make accurate deductions/draw conclusions
• Harleen Quinzel- Attention seeking; boy crazy; difficulty maintaining friendships; typically acts out for attention/approval; high grades in math and science
• Joe Carr- Class Clown; severe behavioral issues/mischievous; suspended, detention, and 1 expulsion for calling his former school and making a bomb threat; laughing and jokes used as a defense mechanism to mask other issues.
• Diana Prince- recently moved to the U.S. from Greece; physically strong, all A's, captain of the girl's wrestling team, difficulty making friends/teased and bullied because of her strength.
