Homework: Operational Manual
For this homework, you will write a process manual -- a "How to." This is typical of many forms of writing in the business setting. Your audience for this manual is comprised of your employees. Note: This is a MANUAL -- not simply a list of instructions. It must include narrative discussion of how and why certain steps are included.
You may choose from one of the following topics. Don't be fooled, as you read in the reading, this type of writing is hard, no matter how simple the topic may seem.
1) How to throw a knuckleball
2) How to get rid of a roommate without committing a crime
3) How to change a bad habit
4) How to resolve a conflict with a co-worker
5) How to get what you want from customer service (or how to appeal when you have received poor service or a poor quality item)
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
(1) The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
(2) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
(3) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
