How to evaluate information presentation video

Assignment:

Lesson on Information Literacy we now know that Information Literacy is defined as "a set of abilities requiring individuals to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information" (Association of Colleges & Research Libraries, 2011). During our lesson we discussed the need to learn how to use and navigate the APUS Online Library, recognize and practice academic honesty, develop research skills, evaluate sourses to determine credibility, and foster pre-writing skills necessary for creating college research papers. With the incredible access to information online students can easily place keywords in a search box and quickly thousands of sites connected to those words or phrases will appear on the screen. How do we know which items are valid (i.e. usable and acceptable)? How does a student discern out of thousands of websites and articles which ones to use? Popularity of visit counts to a site does not indicate reliability (i.e. trustworthiness). And how can we scan resources we have located to determine usability for our particular purpose or assignment?
