Problem: Your Company has been directly impacted by the Corona Virus pandemic and you have been asked to provide the company's Senior Management with recommendations regarding how to cope with various aspects of the crisis.

Your construction company has been ordered by state authorities to cease operations. You have been tasked with presenting the company President with options for payment of employees during the work shutdown. The President would like to pay some and perhaps even most employees something but cannot afford to keep everyone at 100% of payroll. Essentially you are being asked to determine whether keeping key employees at 100% or paying everyone significantly less than 100% or some compromise between the two is the best option for the company. Keep in mind that you have no idea, at this point, how long the crisis may last. You are not expected to know the financial situation of the company and so your decisions should be guided by your sense of fairness, and the long term viability of the company, in terms of employee relations and capacity for start up, when the crisis has abated.  Write a memo (using proper memo form) to the company president making a specific proposal for employee compensation and justifying your proposal. Your submission needs to reflect your use of strategy, and your ability to justify a position. Your communications must employ the appropriate professional tone and be free of grammar, usage, and other errors.
