How to build the conceptual model for the business

Assignment task:

Allan Fence (AF) is a woodwork company that provides services in building, installing, and repairing fences made of wood and other types of construction materials. The business serves both residential and commercial clients. The company owners would like to automate the business operations using fence industry software. When the client is interested in working with AF, they complete a request form on AF website providing client first, last name, email, phone, and address. The client also indicates their needs which may include new fence installation, repairs, commercial fences, or other projects. Preferred client contact information (phone, email, or text) is also entered into form as well as an answer to All Copyrights reserved. No part of this document may be reproduced, distributed, or transmitted in any form or by any means, including photocopying, recording, screenshots, snips or other electronic or mechanical methods. a question regarding how the client heard about Allen Fence (Google, Facebook, Craigslist and Angi). Finally, the client enters a complete description of the project they intend to hire AF to work on. AF responds to the client with a project quote that includes initial estimate of project cost. Once the quote is accepted, it is marked as a project in the software. Each new project must have a primary fence-worker who is put in charge of several other workers from start to end. A project might include several fence-related jobs such as fence design, building, painting, or installation. Fence-workers may work on multiple projects simultaneously and for different client locations. A fence job may or may not require supplies such as paint, lumber, or hardware, which are purchased from several local suppliers. Allan Fence has to track the cost of supplies for each job. As a way to increase profit, the business increases a supply price by a small percentage before billing the client. For example, if fence post hardware cost $50, the client is billed $50 + % increase. The database stores the actual costs of all jobs and all projects.

AF uses referring web sites such as Angi's List to recommend new clients. A successful referral results in a fee of 2% - 3% of total project cost and is paid by AF to the referring website. Fence financing can be provided by Eastern Bank, which has several locations in the state where AF is located. The fence software accepts finance applications for clients and routes the information to the bank. Each client has to provide project cost amount to borrow, and client credit score. To qualify for the traditional 5-to-12-year loans, the client will need a 500- credit score or greater and a loan minimum of $10,000 at interest rate of 3%. If the client credit score is 680 or higher, they may quality for 0% for 18 months! Many clients choose not to finance the project cost and instead pay the cost in checks, or any AF accepted credit cards.
