How the request for the web page data

You work in the computer science lab at your school and have been helping a student working in the lab. In your conversation the student asks about how a Web site appears on his computer screen. You see an opportunity to reference and expand on the OSI model. You explain the process that occurs between a client and a server when requesting a Web page, using the OSI model as a reference. You tell the student about how HTTP initiates a request from the Web client to the Web server and later, interprets the resulting response at the Application layer and then how the request for the Web page data will follow the same process of requesting, translation, security, session negotiation, routing, error-checking, addressing, and framing down through the OSI model layers as described in the example of a mail message request in the chapter. The student thanks you for the information but wonders why he should ever care about the OSI model or data frames explaining that he wishes to become a network architect and deal with routers, switches, and cabling and those little details such as packets won't be of his concern.

In response, describe how OSI model layers can affect a network's design and networking in general such as a network design based on routers. What layer of the OSI model might a network architect take the greatest interest in? How can the OSI model be a useful reference when troubleshooting network problems such as what layer of the OSI model might problems be occurring when one node can send and receive data, yet the data is not encoded properly?
