Assignment task:

Provide a reply to this classmate response for week 1 dialogue

Your thought on "Leadership encompasses more than just individual characteristics; it involves establishing connections, the development of a shared sense of direction, and fostering trust within a group of followers," According to Bennis (2000), is spot on.  In support of your research, the aim of a study I was reading, was to analyze the relationships between leadership effectiveness, knowledge sharing behavior, business performance, firm strategy, and firm performance. (Cakir, Adiguzel.  2020).  Yukl states, "Leadership is defined as "the process of facilitating individual and collective efforts to understand and influence the people to realize what is to be done and how and to realize the shared objectives."  (2013.)

Leadership is "the process of social influence that one can get the help and support of others to achieve a common objective." (Chemers. 2000).  The effectiveness of the leader is a function of various organizational conditions, some personal and interpersonal behaviors.  Thus, leader effectiveness indicates the importance of self-sacrificial work that will bring great benefits to the leader's organization. Employees can be inspired by the behavior of leaders in organizations and can give meaning to these actions to shape their goals. (Cakir, Adiguzel.  2020).

One more thought that supports your post.  Dabke states, "Emotional intelligence (EI) plays a pivotal role in leadership effectiveness." (2016). Emotional Intelligence being the ability to understand and manage our own emotions and interactions with others.  It is identified as a key component in 'effective leadership' and their communication with employees.
