How effectively does the author persuade the readernbsp

Read both the PRO and CON of Cyber bullying, Off-Campus Regulation.  Consider the strengths and/or weaknesses of the arguments by answering the questions below about both.  Annotate each article as you read and use your annotations to help you analyze the arguments. (First impressions are often lost when not written down right away.) Tell me which one you think is the better argument.

You may discuss the articles question by question or by evaluating each argument separately.

Questions:

1. Does the author establish any kind of authority on the subject?   (It can be the author him/herself or quoting experts)

2. Is the article mainly fact or opinion? Are the facts used convincing?  Justify your opinion.  Think about evidence vs. emotional appeals.

3. How effectively does the author persuade the reader?  Anything that does or does not work well? Consider the evidence that the author gives to support the points that he/she is trying to make.

4. Does the author discuss objections or alternate ideas to his/her argument?  If so, in your opinion, is the author successful in refuting the claims? Your answer should be around 1 page.  Remember to reference the articles in your evaluation.
