How do you use cognitive techniques in the population


Problem

The concreteness of SFT makes it ideal for adolescents! I've worked w/youth (both civically and criminally) and due to their level of development, many of them are unable to truly process abstract concepts, which is in line w/Piaget's development theory. The cognitive techniques used can be very beneficial in helping young clients to think about their actions b/f engaging in them, but it can also be challenging for those who have a low IQ. How do you use cognitive techniques w/this population? Is it recommended?
