In this course you will contact a local Long Term Care facility and interview an administrator on legal and regulatory burdens they face.

An introduction to the administrator that you interviewed

For example: current position, daily tasks, length of employment in the field, time in current position, etc.

1) What do they do in terms of survey readiness?

2) What's their plan?

3) What do they do on a daily basis to make sure staff is prepared for these regulators to enter the building?

4) If they do find issues what they do to mitigate the risk, and how well the staff understands what that means when it comes to being able to be involved with problem solving?

5) Your part of your daily rounding is you go in and you find someone who has fallen, what are we going to do to mitigate that risk?

6) Put a plan in place to keep that residence safe?

7) For continuous improvement that needs to happen, as well as being survey ready. How do they fit together?

8) How do you get the direct care staff involved with that problem solving?
