1. Why would an artist choose to use a tedious and ancient technique or paint process when other options exist?
2. How is contemporary realistic, precise rendering in paint or other non-mechanical materials (i.e. non-photographic) relevant when photographic processes could be easily employed?
3. How does the arrangement of objects or images within the museum influence your understanding of the works? In other words why are certain works grouped in the way they are grouped?
4. How do the artworks connect to other aspects of life? Does the work conjure a memory? Is there value in this? Why or how is this valuable?
5. How does the time period seem to influence the images, forms or style of the work?
