How did you prepare for the interview


Problem

Employers can use a variety of different types of interviews to screen candidates for employment, including behavioral interviews, group interviews, phone interviews, video interviews, second interviews, and even dining interviews.

The purpose of this activity is for you to share your interview experiences with your classmates. This topic is related to the content of Module 5: Recruitment and Selection.

Instructions:

A. Working in groups of two or three, individually provide examples of jobs you have interviewed for.

B. Working with this list, determine what was the type of interview, answer the questions below for each example

a. How did you prepare for the interview?

b. Were the types of interview questions appropriate for the work? Why or why not?

c. Were the questions behaviour or situation based?

d. Did the questions asked by the interviewer help you make a decision to join the organization? Why or why not?

e. Reflecting on the interview questions, discuss in your group what actions might you change to for another interview?
