1. Discuss how cultural issues within that country could affect the organization's expansion.

2. How would you go about selecting and assigning an expatriate manager?

  • What challenges might you face in preparing your manager for an overseas transfer?
  • What types of things must be considered when compensating expatriates?

3. Why do nearly half of employees sent on these types of assignments end up resigning once they return home?

4. Assuming you could choose the country you are assigned to, would you consider going on this type of overseas transfer? Why or why not?
