Problem: The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted how we delivered healthcare, communicate with patients, and utilize services and facilities. Healthcare professionals must work in a restricted protocol environment to provide the best care possible. Many of the medical supplies were limited. To decrease the transmission of the covid-19, medical staff has to wear layers of protective gowns, gloves, facial masks, and shields. After each usage, we spent hours thoroughly sanitizing the exam room from top to bottom. There was limited patient interaction.
Many preventive or elective services were deferred to delay care or convert to telemedicine, and only emergency illness was allowed in-person visits. Many patients do not want to jeopardize their health and prefer the virtual visit to address their concerns.
