Headstock drive - locate the incorrect design areas of the

REQUIRED:

1. Locate the incorrect design areas of the Headstock Drive and replace them with the correct design.

Draw sketches of all the re-designed parts (Housing, Input Shaft, Vee Pulley)

2. Use sealed bearing to eliminate the need of seals and end caps

3. Modify design the Drive Housing for the changes.

The part file of the Housing can be found in Learning Resources > Inventor Files > Headstock Drive

4. Modify design of the Vee Pulley.

Instead of using M24 nut to fasten the Pulley, replace it by using a Taper Lock Bush.

Make sure the Pulley is fastened at the correct position.

5. Modify design of the Input Shaft for the design change in the Vee Pulley and also show how the Spur Gear is fastened at its gear end.

6. Use Inventor to draw a FULL SECTIONAL ASSEMBLY DRAWING of your modified Headstock Drive. Your assembly drawing should include the Spur Gear.

Use Inventor Design Accelerator to generate the Input Shaft, the Vee Pulley and the Spur Gear. Get standard parts from Inventor Content Centre.

7. Prepare DETAIL DRAWINGS of the DRIVE HOUSING & INPUT SHAFT.

8. The project folder should be zipped and submitted to the Teacher.

Hard copies of the sketches and drawings should be submitted in an A4 binder.

Drawing sheet size bigger than A4 should be folded to A4 size in a way that it is ready to be open and read.

All drawings should be done
according to Australian Standard,
in third angle projection,
using the correct drawing sheet size and scale.

The standard of the drawings should meet the requirements of working drawings.
