Assessment: VoIP Applications
Learning outcomes:
1. Demonstration of understanding of the advantages & disadvantages of two VoIP applications or technologies from a user/commercial perspective (in full)
2. Identify the specific technical issues for VoIP for two of the topics raised in the presentation and briefly describe how they are overcome to deliver a service to the user(s).
Assignment Brief (refer to accompanying presentation for additional information)
This assignment is in two parts: a group presentation of 20-25 minutes duration, and an individual assignment of 2000 words.
Part 1 -
For the presentation, you are to form groups of three. All team members must contribute to the presentation. Pens, PowerPoint, paper, etc. can be made available.
You will research and present on three applications of VoIP or associated multimedia services, clearly identifying the advantages and disadvantages of each. The presentation should be biased towards the user's and/or commercial standpoint.
Part 2 -
For two of the applications presented in Part 1, you are to identify and briefly explain the underlying technologies, recognise any difficulties in the delivery of the service and briefly describe how those difficulties are overcome. As with the presentation, the bias should be towards the user's and/or commercial standpoint.
Identify the sources you have used in researching your submission using Harvard referencing to the UoS standard.
