Flow-charting is a common practice used in many organizations both within the manufacturing and service sectors. In addition to flowcharts, many other visual mapping diagrams are created and used everyday within organizations.

Several links, which should aid you in the flow-charting process, have been added to week 3 learning module under the section of Additional Resources. If you want to get even more information on flow-charting, complete an Internet search on flow-charting and related projects.

Further, you do not need special software to create a flowchart. Rather, I would suggest that you create flowcharts using Microsoft Excel, by using the drawing commands. One of the links found under Additional Resources in Week 3's Learning Module can aid you using excel to create a flow chart.

Assignment:

1. Generate a flow chart for one of the options listed below. (Note: flow charts contain questions which when answered lead you on a yes or no path. In addition flow charts have different symbols for different activities within the process).
