Fit1033 foundations of 3d - create a real-world object in

Assignment: Modelling a found Object

BRIEF

This assessment requires you to faithfully re-create a real-world object in 3D virtual environment. Throughout the course of the assessment you will be required to: find an appropriate physical real-work object, model it in 3D, apply basic materials and lighting, and render the final finished object.

You will present your object as 3 different 3D renders/images that have been carefully curated to illustrate your chosen object in the best possible light.

You are also required to document your process throughout the entirety of the assessment and include said documentation in your assignment submission.

OBJECT SELECTION

It is a requirement of this assessment that you choose an actual physical object that you own or have access to which you can hold and move and analyse to assist your modelling process. It's also important that you choose an object that is not too difficult, or not difficult enough to pose a meaningful modelling challenge. Consequently, it is a requirement of this assessment that your tutor approves your chosen object before you commence modelling it.

You should bring your suggested object into class for approval by no later than week 3.

Small items at home, miscellaneous trinkets, souvenirs, children's toys, small collectables - these kinds of objects usually make good subjects for this assessment. Phones, USB flash drives and car-keys are less original ideas that are unlikely to be approved.
