Find the magnitude of the reaction force

To use the principle of superposition to determine the total deflection in a cylindrical rod due to a static loading.

A steel rod (E=200 GPa) is subjected to the load shown, where P = 2700kN . A gap a = 1.60mm exists before the load is applied. The elongated rod contacts the top surface at C'. Assume the mass of the rod is negligible. The values for the figure below are d = 0.550m , e = 0.350m , j = 60.0mm , and g = 42.0mm.

Find the magnitude of the reaction force FC? in the rod after the load P has been applied.

Determine the magnitude of the reaction force FA in the steel rod after the load has been applied. Assume section AB of the rod is in tension. Reaction at Aafter the load has been applied.
