Final Project - Descriptive Statistics Report on Research and Data Analysis

Topic for this paper is how parenting styles influence on their children's grades. So, parenting styles is an independent variable, and grades are dependent variable.

The parenting styles could be defined like permissive style or authoritative style.

This report should have more than 10 questions which are included gender and age.

Answer the questions below by printing R code and output that summarize the key features of your sample and data. (As you do for the labs.)

Data Cleaning: What steps did you take to clean data (if any?)

Participants: Who was in your study?

  • Sample Size:
  • % of Female, Male, and Other gender:
  • Average age:

Measures: Were any of your variables measured using a scale? If so, list the name of the scale below, provide a citation for where you got this scale (or if you made it up, describe how you made it up), give an example of a question from this scale, and describe how participants answered the question (e.g., "...on a scale from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree).")

Variables: Calculate (and report below) the mean, standard deviation, range for each variable in your study.

Histograms: Graph a histogram for each variable in your study.

Correlation /Scatter-plot Matrix: Print a correlation matrix (or graph a scatterplot matrix) to show the relationship between all your variables in your study. Check to make sure that the correlations make sense (i.e., evaluate convergent and discriminant validity).
