Case Assignment
Use the readings in Module 3 and other relevant resources to write a 3 to 5 page paper that presents the primary issues and challenges educational leaders face in STEM education. Formulate an explanation of the relationship between STEM education reform trends, STEM teacher preparation, and student achievement in STEM from the perspective of an educational leader (or future educational leader).

STEM Education
There are varying opinions on how STEM education should be presented in the classroom. These opinions vary widely from elementary school, middle school, high school, and post-secondary educational settings. The goal of this paper is to explore the differences in STEM education approaches at a point of transition within the education pipeline. For example, if you currently work in an elementary school setting, what instructional practices are implemented in STEM education at the elementary school site, and how does this compare with the instructional practice employed at the middle school site? Other options might be middle school to high school; high school to community college; high school to trade school; or high school to a 4-year college.
In a 3 to 5 page paper, investigate and analyze the STEM instructional practices at your school site through the use of field observations, document analysis, or interviews. Then, explore the STEM instructional practices at the location of your students' next transition point. If possible, identify and interview an educational leader who participates directly in STEM education at the transition site (teacher, chair, or instructional leader). What, if any, are the primary differences in STEM education practices? Offer your insight on how students will adjust to the changes in instructional practice. As an educational leader or future educational leader, reflect on what is improving (or hindering) student achievement in STEM education.
