Give the balanced net ionic equations for the series of reactions in the synthesis of potassium alum.
Given:   Aluminum metal + KOH
               H+ + [Al(OH)4]-
                    
[Al(H2O)6]3+ +  K+ + (SO42-

The procedures for producing the crystal were: add KOH to Al metal, which dissolves the Al metal. Add sulfuric acid. Solid Al(OH)3will precipitate and then dissolve as more acid is added. Crystals grow once the solution is cooled.
