Topic: Tense is a practical element of communication in English or among English students.
For this discussion post, teach your classmates about your topic and the various perspectives you've found through your research.
In your initial post, objectively summarize the various positions within your topic. Who is debating the topic (this can be specific individuals or groups of people)? What are they saying? What evidence do they point to as support?
Then, explain what you find most interesting about your topic. What perspective do you find intriguing and necessary for your readers to understand? What will you focus on for your expository essay?
Finally, draft a potential thesis statement that captures the essence of the topic you'll be discussing in your essay. Remember, your essay should be written in the third person. Your thesis statement should avoid stating, "I will be discussing..."
