1. Explain what microaggressions are (providing at least two specific types and examples), why they can be so destructive, and at least two ways that they can be discouraged or prevented among school-age children and adolescents.
2. Explain at least two reasons why conversations about race can be difficult, according to Derald Wing Sue and Madonna G. Constantine. Then explain if you agree with this reasoning, and, if you believe similar barriers exist for conversations about other cultural differences, such as religion, gender, sexuality, and/or socioeconomic status.
3. Identify and describe at least two "best practices" for improving intergroup relationships among young people at schools, including how and why these practices have been successful. Describe at least two specific ways that parents, teachers, or other adults can promote cultural sensitivity in children and adolescents.
