• Prompt I: Describe 3 topics that you found interesting. Three topics I found interesting were invasion, succession, and gentrification.
• Prompt II: Define demography and explain the three processes that produce changes in populations.
• Prompt III: Discuss Malthusian, Marxist, and neo Malthusian perspectives on population as well as demographic transition theory.
• Prompt IV: Explain how cities develop through preindustrial, industrial, and postindustrial stages.
• Prompt V: Identify the best-case and worst-case scenarios regarding population and urban growth in the twenty-first century, and discuss how some of the worst-case scenarios might be averted.
