Explain the difference between proactive and reactive tna

Problem

Module I

i. Describe the purpose of a Training Needs Analysis and when a TNA would identify that training is not the necessary approach.

ii. Explain the difference between proactive and reactive TNA. Give examples of when proactive or reactive would be appropriate.

Module II

i. Write two learning objectives for your client company, clearly indicating the 3 elements of each of the objectives (see textbook). The purpose of this exercise is to write learning objectives in a proper structure so be as specific as possible with your learning objective.

a. The learning objective should be one sentence and measurable in order to determine if the learning objectives have been achieved after training. Indicate each of the 3 elements in bold, italic and underline (as per textbook). ie. The desired behaviour is bold, the conditions are italicized, and the standards are underlined.

b. (Use this case for this question: trigger event; Recently, my employee contact was hurt while using a steamer to shampoo the interior of a car that was being serviced. Unintentionally, the steamer's head fell from his grasp, burning his left ankle, necessitating the submission of an accident report as well as the requirement that he undergo fresh training in order to prevent a repeat of the incident. This is simply another example of his ADHD making it difficult for him to understand the lengthy videos. Due to his ADHD not being taken into account during training, he missed important details like making sure the steamer head was securely in place, making sure the right steamer head was on the right machine, and not receiving the right safety equipment.)

ii. Assume that you are designing a training program. Explain how you would use the principles derived from learning theory to design this training session. Specifically, what theories are relevant to the design of training including learning theories, motivational theories and design theories.

Module III

i. Why are classroom-based training programs (such as lectures) used so much more than individualized approaches to training such as On The Job Training? Do you think this choice is appropriate? Explain your preference with examples.

ii. How is Computer Based Training (CBT) / Electronic Training different from e-learning? Be very clear in your answer with examples to demonstrate your knowledge about the differences in approaches using technology.

Module IV

i. How would you apply the elements of an instructional strategy to ensure that transfer of training to employees on the job occurs? Your response should address all components of an instructional strategy such as ice breakers and instructional methods. For example, when you explain the room setup, you should also explain your decision based on sound adult learning principles, learning theory and the need to ensure transfer of learning. You can use any example of training to support your opinion. Be sure to incorporate the characteristics of adult learners and learning styles in your response.
